With a full range of print and finishing technologies under one roof and the capacity to handle print runs of a million or more cards, we can handle custom scratch card printing jobs from start to finish, from full-colour litho printing, through latex printing, to trimming, packing and secure despatch.
Applied using our state-of-the-art screen printing machines, latex ink delivers opaque coverage but is easy to remove using a coin or fingernail. It’s usually produced in silver (known as a lottery finish) but we can also print in gold and a range of other colours.
It goes without saying that latex inks can be applied over other inks – there wouldn’t be much point otherwise! – but we can also overprint onto the latex for games and competitions.
As scratch cards can often have very high value prizes, we have established procedures to ensure the highest security within our premises and complete peace of mind for our customers.
We can also advise on the design of artwork to maximise security. For example we recommend that artwork has a background tint under the latexed area to help eliminate show-through. And if printing digitally we always use matt lamination on the latexed side. This eliminates the ‘raised ink’ effect of toner inks which could otherwise be visible through the latex.
Scratch cards are familiar to us all and widely used for more than just lottery cards, for example special offers, in-store promotions, charity fundraising, gaming cards, direct mail, exhibition materials and door drops. But the ability to scratch off an opaque ink to reveal details beneath lends itself to a host of other applications. These include:
Greetings cards · Advent calendars · Parking permits · Travel cards · Season tickets · Loyalty programmes
